Bands
Each band consists of bagpipers, a base drummer, tenor drummers, and snare drummers. The bands perform in many different events such as parades, weddings, funerals, and Scottish festivals. The bands also have an opportunity to complete by performing sets in front of judges. The bands are ranks according to the different levels with Grade 5 bands being beginners and novice to Grade 2 being advanced experts. The drummers and pipers can also complete in different competitions and solo competitions. In Utah there are two high schools that have pipe band programs Ben Lomond High School and Payson High School.
